The Gallery is located in downtown Montreal on the campus of Concordia University, one of Québec's most culturally diverse universities, the Leonard & Bina Ellen Art Gallery focuses on the presentation and critical investigation of Canadian and international art with an emphasis placed on contemporary art.

It presents six major exhibitions annually with the prime focus on contemporary art but it also occasionally investigates practices and issues from the past from a contemporary viewpoint.

Other than exhibitions and guest- curate projects, the Gallery hosts traveling shows from Canada or abroad that are selected for their capacity to enhance and complement the gallery's programming.

In 2005 the Gallery began producing two series of publications on its permanent collection: Collection and Capsule. The first features an in- depth essay on an aspect of the Permanent Collection. The second invites a thinker from a discipline other than the visual arts or art history to develop a piece of writing using a work from the collection as a starting point.

Opening Hours: Tuesday - Saturday 12 pm - 6 pm.

Admission is free.
