Quebec Symphony Orchestra

For over a century, Quebec Symphony Orchestra has been presenting a large number of grand events.

A cultural symbol par excellence, the OSQ performs a wide symphonic repertoire and is one of the select few to lead and inspire the musical industry in the Québec City region. Each year, the OSQ reaches over 100,000 music lovers through its regular and promotional concerts.

With a view of contributing to the cultural awakening of Québec City's youth, the OSQ offers them the opportunity to discover classical music through the Matinées symphoniques and Les Concerts Famille Industrielle Alliance.

Two years ago, the OSQ was honored with the Opus Jeune public award for the third installment of Les Concerts Famille Industrielle- Alliance, of the 1999- 2000 seasons, called Planète Baobab and drawn from Antoine de Saint- Exupéry's well- known Le Petit Prince. The concert was presented in collaboration with l'Arsenal à musique.

The OSQ is the only musical instrument of its kind in Quebec City and surrounding areas. The orchestra has grown over these years into a full- blown cultural enterprise which produces close to forty different concerts each season.
