Fêtes de la Nouvelle-France

Beginning in 1997, the fete is celebrated every year since then. Every year a different theme is added with new features and attractions. For 2006, "France/New France" is the focus of this highly popular event.

The French were quick to embrace the culture of the First Nations. Among them, Baron de Lahontan, whose writings left their mark on French thinking, thanks to the myth of the "noble savage," epitomizing "good" but removed from this value as the civilized European attempted to convert him to Christianity.

This would become one of the major themes of philosophical and Romanesque literature.

Actors, musicians and artists are involved in the festival. Always playful, fun- filled and passionate, don't miss Les Rendezvous de nos 10 ans, their 10th anniversary celebrations.
