International Festival of Military Bands

The International Festival of Military Bands was established with a mission to promote awareness and appreciation of Canada's military bands, its traditions, history and various forms, featuring Old Québec's fortifications and historic places.

Another aspect of the organization's mission is to welcome prestigious foreign military bands and encourage exchanges between Canadian and foreign musicians and with the public.

The Festival caters to military music lovers. It lasts five days and is held at the end of summer, at a time when the other major events held in Old Quebec are over.

The Festival increases the visibility of Québec City both in Canada and abroad, fostering the development of culture and of the tourist industry.
This is a unique window providing Canada with an opportunity to welcome people from different countries around the world to the city of Québec. Festival- goers, whether local or foreign visitors, can discover and appreciate Canadian and international military music traditions and their values.
