IMS Health came into existence in 1960 when Davee, Koehnlein and Keating (DK&K), a Chicago- based accounting firm that tracked sales activity in the Canadian pharmaceutical marketplace was acquired by Intercontinental Medical Statistics Inc.

The Center employs highest standards in data collection, processing and statistical analysis. It collects data from over 65,000 sources in Canada including hospitals, pharmacies, pharmaceutical manufacturers and wholesalers, and physicians.

It complies with all relevant standards of the International Code of Marketing and Social Research Practice as they relate to privacy.
