Marc Beauchamp and his wife, Claudette, opened Galerie d'art Royale at the corner of Rue Saint- Pierre and Côte de la Montagne in 1993.

Over the next five years, they opened two more galleries in a building across the street: Galerie d'art Beauchamp et Beauchampat 10 rue du Sault- au- Matelot, and Galerie d'art Bel Art at 125 côte de la Montagne.

The galleries represent over 140 artists who exhibit only original paintings. There are no copies or reproductions. The galleries also carry sculptures, precious stones, and exclusive jewellery. This wide range of works of art is keyed to the galleries' success.

The galleries are housed in a building that was once the private mansion of Charles Aubert de la Chesnay, New France's most prominent businessman. The building's three levels feature a greystone foundation dating back to 1647 and immense wooden beams. A large section of the basement level has a magnificent stone vault beneath Côte de la Montagne, and is a unique treasure in North America.

Hours: Daily 9:30am- 6pm.

Payment Methods: Visa, Master Card, American Express.
